Whitney Mongé is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music transcends conventional boundaries. Now based in Nashville, TN, her sound is a seamless blend of smoky, soulful vocals, poignant lyrics, and a raw authenticity that stems from years spent performing on the streets. Mongé’s artistry thrives in the intersection of blues, rock, and indie folk, shaping her signature style: Americana Soul. Whether performing on a busy street corner or under the spotlight on a stage, she captivates her audience with a mesmerizing voice and genuine storytelling.
In 2014, Mongé was featured in the award-winning “Find Your Way: A Busker’s Documentary” alongside Chris Ballew and Joshua Bell. The film captured the grit and spirit of her busking journey and earned ten film nominations, including a screening at the CBGB Festival in New York.
As her career grew, so did her sound. Drawing from the alternative rock scene of the Pacific Northwest, Mongé developed a style now known as Americana Soul—a fusion of rhythm and blues, indie folk, and rock. Her rich, raspy vocals evoke comparisons to Brittany Howard and Lenny Kravitz, and her lyrics explore love, loss, and personal growth with striking vulnerability and strength.
