Original Celtic Rock • $10 COVER AT DOOR
SEVEN NATIONS is a Celtic rock band that formed in New York City in 1993, with members now hailing from California to Toronto to Florida. The band’s name comes from the seven original Celtic nations, including Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Galecia, Isle of Man & Brittany.
Touring extensively in the U.S. and abroad for over two decades, the band has performed everywhere from nightclubs & pubs to festivals & street fairs to concert halls — and, most recently, with several top American symphonic & philharmonic orchestras.
With a passionate, tender and rollicking style that winningly veers from roots & folk to dance & fusion-rock, Seven Nations has earned a growing reputation as an adventurous band with a charismatic stage presence.
“The band began with a standard line-up of drums, guitars & bass,” notes lead singer and guitarist Kirk McLeod. “We soon introduced bagpipes into the show, and over time the number of songs utilizing bagpipes grew until it became obvious that they were integral to our emerging sound. Most of the band members grew up playing Celtic music, and we’ve been performing original compositions since we began. Our instrumentation, and bagpipes & fiddle mostly, give us a distinctive sound and that’s what makes us different.”
It’s been two decades, with over a million miles logged on the road & a quarter million albums sold since their inception and Seven Nations says they’re just getting started! With a highly anticipated return to their roots of festivals, touring and recording, this indie band is poised for another amazing decade.
So throw away any pre-conceived notions you may have about Celtic music and get yourself to Jack of the Wood for a rockin’ night! Seven Nations is not your father’s Celtic band!
The band’s current line-up includes Kirk McLeod (vocals, keyboard, guitars & Great Highland bagpipes), Jim “Strubby” Struble (vocals, acoustic and bass guitars), Angelo Christian Miceli (drums), Jon Pilatzke (fiddle) & Brad Green (bagpipes).
