    9:00 pm

Wyatt Yurth and The Gold Standard -  Facebook

Wyatt Yurth and the Gold Standard is a modern Western Swing band based in Asheville. They play classic standards as well as adapted country and folk songs. Equally at home at a jazz club or a barn dance, the group loves to play hot danceable music that brings the party. Their timeless sound harkens back to an era when music was at a crucial intersection, when jazz, blues, and stringband music combined, giving birth to western swing on the way to the dawn of country and rock and roll.

Left Lane Cruiser is the "whiskey fueled two man frenzy of blues-driven rock'n roll noise straight from Fort Wayne, Indiana."  Here's a taste!

The Steel City Jug Slammers continues a tradition of jug band music that is highly influenced by the sounds of early Memphis string band and blues. Instrumentation in the band varies. While the guitar provides the pallet for the songs, it is carried by the back bone of the washtub bass and jug. On top of that you will hear anything from banjo- mandolin to banjo- guitar and maybe even a little kazoo.

Moonshine Rhythm Club -  Website  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Moonshine Rhythm Club brings old-school swing and jazz to life with joyful arrangements and energetic playing that makes this vintage music sound like it was written this morning. The boys seek out deep cuts from the 30s and 40s, take their favorite parts from classic big band recordings, and distill them into their signature sound. That sound draws on the guitar-driven, acoustic fire of gypsy jazz, as well as the slow burn and laid-back groove of later artists like Count Basie and Nat “King” Cole. On top of this lays classy and hip vocals with a lighthearted humor.

The Rattlesnake Rattlers are a folk string band from the heart of Dixie. Some call it a jug band; some call it a redneck orchestra; others call it hobo blues. At any rate, these Alabama boys and girls have revived a sound that could have easily been lost with the memories of those who enjoyed true southern folk music, which was played by bands made up of true artists.

Flying Buffaloes represents the essence and energy of the current musical climate in Nashville; the converging of the traditional country honky-tonk mentality with the new wave of gritty East Nashville rock & roll. Their sound is reminiscent of The Eagles, vocally, with Beatles-esque harmony and a swampy, Rolling Stones-meets-CCR rhythm section. Country influences like Waylon Jennings. Willie Nelson, and Chris Stapleton really shine through in Flying Buffaloes songwriting, instrumentation, and lyrics.

The Shimmy & the Burns experience is best summed up by a recent review of “Letting Go” in which Blank Newspaper says, “you’ll be more than pleased by their live sets. Catch them at one of their upcoming shows and raise a glass to this beautiful mess we call life.”

    "Yodelin' Country Bluesman"

Hailing from East TN, "Papa Say" began traveling America's highways and railroads, studying American folk music styles such as Old-time, Country, Blues, Cajun & Jug. With a voice like a young Hank Williams, and an acute musical attention to detail, he plays with an authenticity that he hopes will spread the knowledge.

    Old Time Jam Session

    5:00 - Free Entry

Old-Time Jam is a proud tradition at Jack's for the past 14 years!  Our players come from all over WNC to be part of this legendary session.  It's a great session for sitting back, enjoying a beverage, and time with friends.

Learn more about the tradition of "Old-Time Music" -  Check out this great intro on the Blue Ridge Music Trails website.  Click here.
