Jack of the Wood has been fortunate to have had some really amazing musicians grace its stage over the years. From members of Flogging Molly & Dr. Dog, Shovels & Rope, Dick Dale, Southern Culture On The Skids, The Avett Brothers, The Blank Tapes, Steep Canyon Rangers, the Kruger Brothers of Switzerland and Mary Jane Lamond of Nova Scotia to Ralph Lewis and Mark Pruitt from our own back yard. We’ve hosted Old Crow Medicine Show, Warren Haynes Christmas Jam By Day, Brother, the Red Stick Ramblers, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Seven Nations, Old Blind Dogs and many more.

    The Pine Box Boys formed in San Francisco in 2003 to perform modern renditions of classic murder ballads such as “The Knoxville Girl” and “Fair Eleanor.” Shortly after Lester Raww, “Possum Carvidi, Col. Timothy Leather and Steven “Your Uncle” Dodds started the Pine Box Boys. Raww transitioned the music to all original songs paying the same grim homage to themes of murder, misery, zombies and generally unapologetic acts of mayhem.

    The Toasters, are "Ska Pioneers" (Billboard magazine) and boldly go where no ska band has gone before. Having been compared to the Ramones, due to their longevity and adherence to core principles, the Toasters are held to be one of most influential ska bands out there.

    Spartanburg’s instrumentalist of the year for 8 years and running, Shane Pruitt is a staple of the music scene in the upstate.  Touring relentlessly with The Shane Pruitt Band, and performing as a feature artist with such acts as The Marshall Tucker Band, The Lee Boys, Flannel Church featuring Duane Trucks, Jeff Sipe, Ike Stubblefield, Yonrico Scott and many more, Shane Pruitt has earned his mark as THE up-and-coming guitarist in the southeast through undeniable hard work.
