Where Great Music Begins
Jack of the Wood has been fortunate to have had some really amazing musicians grace its stage over the years. From members of Flogging Molly & Dr. Dog, Shovels & Rope, Dick Dale, Southern Culture On The Skids, The Avett Brothers, The Blank Tapes, Steep Canyon Rangers, the Kruger Brothers of Switzerland and Mary Jane Lamond of Nova Scotia to Ralph Lewis and Mark Pruitt from our own back yard. We’ve hosted Old Crow Medicine Show, Warren Haynes Christmas Jam By Day, Brother, the Red Stick Ramblers, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Seven Nations, Old Blind Dogs and many more.

Urban Pioneers with The Carmonas9pm - $5
A wild night of hillbilly music, western swing and rockabilly.
“It’s a true blend of American music,” the two brothers (Aaron and Chad) and sister (Alison) explain, “most of what is heard is directly inspired from the places we’ve lived and loved and lost in our lives: The Southern, Appalachian roots of North Carolina to the seemingly endless fertile valleys of Central California.”

Old Time Open Jam Session5:00 PM
The Old Time Jam Session is a proud tradition at Jack's for the past 20 years!
Our players come from all over WNC to be part of this legendary session. It's a great for sitting back, enjoying a bite & beverage, and time with friends! Old Time music, the precursor to Blue Grass, reflects the cultures that settled North America. The roots of old-time music are in the traditional musics of the British Isles, (England and Scotland), Ireland and Africa, even French and German influences.
